Checking weight regularly linked to weight loss

A study has found that people are more likely to lose weight the more often they weigh themselves. It also showed that if individuals do not check their weight at least once a week, then they are more likely to gain weight.

Researchers of the study observed that the average time that participants could maintain their weight is 5.8 days or about a week before they weigh themselves again. Therefore, the researchers suggest that you weigh yourself at least once a week if want to lose weight.

A second important observation from the study is that individuals’ weights fluctuated throughout the week. Thus, if a person with a goal to lose weight were weekly checking his/her weight, it is suggested that he/she does so the same day each week to get more accurate weight readings.
