Loss of wolves causing a trophic cascade in Yellowstone National Park

Wolves in Yellowstone National Park were eliminated therefore leading to a surge in the deer population. The increase in deer population therefore lead to an increase in the grazing of vegetation, this is further altering the delicate ecosystems. This is an example of a trophic cascade starting at the top of the food chain and cascades to the base. The return of wolves may be able to calm the effects of the cascade.
